| Scores of rebels killed in fighting with Yemeni resistance |

| Scores of Iranian-backed coup militias were killed in heavy fighting with Yemen’s national army and resistance fighters in Taiz on Saturday as the national allies pursued an offensive to seize the Southeastern governorate. Three Houthis were killed and six others were wounded in a resistance attack near Al Barh area in Taiz while a rebel armoured vehicle was destroyed by the resistance in Hareer area, Yemen’s Masdar Online news network said. It quoted resistance sources as saying several other Houthis were killed or wounded in a resistance attack on a key rebel position in Al Hawala area in Taiz. The sources said the resistance also repulsed an attempt by the Houthis and their allies to advance towards Useifra area. The report said the Houthis and their allies retaliated on Saturday by shelling residential areas, killing three children aged between four and 10 years. It said the nationalists, backed by the Arab coalition air forces, pressed on with a major offensive launched last month to eject the insurgents and end Taiz’s siege. |
