| Three suspected militants killed in Quetta |

| QUETTA: Three suspected militants were killed during an exchange of fire with security forces in Quetta's Sariab road area on Saturday night. Security forces conducted a raid in Sariab road area to apprehend the accused during an intelligence based operation. The miscreants belonged to a banned militants outfit involved in targeted killings and explosions in Quetta, Frontier Corps spokesman said. “A cache of weapons was also recovered during the operation,” he added. In another incident, a small portion of railway track was damaged in a blast near Sariab road area. Police sources said unidentified militants planted an improvised explosives device near a railway track, however, there was no loss of life due to the blast. Police and FC personnel reached the blast site as investigation into the incident went underway. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast. Moreover, some suspected militants involved in targeted killings and kidnappings were also arrested during the search operation around Sariab road. |
