Trump worse than Voldemort, says J.K. Rowling
2015-12-09
[DAWN] World leaders, fellow Republicans, along with “Harry Potter “author J.K. Rowling condemned comments by US presidential hopeful Donald Trump saying Muslims should be barred from entering the United States. British author J.K. Rowling wrote on Twitter that Voldemort, the archvillain of her popular Harry Potter series, “was nowhere near as bad” as Trump.
That's a really dumb statement by a really good writer. She invented a character who epitomized Evil. Trump is maybe wrong, but he's not Evil, and probably not even evil. Hyperbole's a poor substitute for just saying "I disagree."
Trump's proposal also drew criticism in France, which had its worst attacks since World War Two on Nov. 13 when shootings and suicide bombings in Paris killed 130 people.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, in a post on Twitter, said “Mr Trump, like others, is feeding hatred and misinformation. Our only enemy is radical Islam.”

I would not take this sh*t from Terry Pratchett---who's worth a million like you.

To be fair, if he said it NOW, I'd listen.

#21  The media and political elites are totally outmatched and outclassed with Trump. Ted Cruz is the only one who can see this. He is playing them as no other has done before. This will only get better. He is drawing in people from every walk of life in this country. One way or another they will try to take him out. As with Venezuela the left and right refuse to relinquish power.

#20  But not as bad as Jason Alexander as Rovemort.

#19  Ok. I think I may have figured out what Trump is up to. The Left is freaking out and calling for his head. That leaves conservatives in a bad position. We don't like Trump, but at the same time we can't let the media claim a scalp. The net of this is to keep Trump in the race -- just as his position in the polls was inexorably eroding.

Well played, a**hole.

#18  To Potterasts, nothing's as tragic
As life when it's lived without magic!
The normal brain boggles
At what I'll call "loggles,"
The nutters that live without logic.

#16  Nothing is worse than Book 7. Nuff said.

#15  Why would this be any more relevant than what Sean Penn thinks about Trump?

#14  JK needs to stick to her fairy tales, or tweet about her own dull life.

#12  So J.K. Rowling's solution to the problem is what ?

#11  Voldemort directly killed his enemies and attempted to enslave the muggles. Trump wants to close the door on people that want to kill their enemies and enslave the non-Muslims.

I think she needs to re-read her books again.

#10  Ask the average Swede, Norwegian, Dane, Brit, Bavarian, or Frenchman who they would prohibit from coming into their countries.

#9  If Trump had made his comment about evangelical Christians she would not have been bothered one bit.

#8  She's made enough money in her world of fantasy to live in it. We have to live in our world of reality and will deal with it.

#6  Shall we ask Trump for advice on writing fiction books?

#5  4 out of 5 British wanted Barack Obama to be President and many contributed illegally to his campaign fund. So much for their political common sense unless their goal is to tear down the USA.

#4  JK Rowling is nowhere near as bad at writing fiction as she is at understanding politics.

#3  “Mr Trump, like others, is feeding hatred and misinformation. Our only enemy is radical Islam.”

Mainstream Islam i.e. the OIC's political consensus is a version of radical Islam.

There are Muslims who don't support the method called 'terrorism' but who still favor the imposition of a totalitarian theocratic caliphate on the world. These Muslims aren't moderates.

#2  Of course he is. Voldermort is a FICTIONAL character who can't really hurt anyone.

You'd think an author would know the difference.

#1  Voldemort enjoyed breaking and killing those he considered beneath him.

Trump is just an asshole.

Big difference.
