 [THEHILL] Democratic presidential hopeful Martin O’Malley says plans to deport hundreds of illegal immigrants in a series of raids are not befitting of the Christmas season. “A Christmas Refugee Roundup sounds like something [Donald Trump] would concoct,” O’Malley tweeted Thursday. “Remember: Jesus was a refugee child who fled death gangs.” |

| #11 The Holy Family fled because Herod had been told that the King of the Jews had been born in his land. He saw that as a threat to his power and feared usurpation. Nowadays, O'Malley and his ilk still deal with usurpers and threats. True, some backward places like Arkansas still do "mysterious auto accidents". And there is the rare falling-out-of-the-window or the "suicide" in a remote area. But nowadays it's more about character assassination, even if it has to be fabricated. Sooo much more civilized, doncha think? |
