| #1 Mr. Totten is always worth reading. I disagree with this bit, though: Their absolute monarchy isnât drastically different from the ISIS âcaliphateâ in Syria and Iraq except that Riyadh plays well with others diplomatically and pushes back hard against Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. It seems to me that House of Saud pushes back hard against Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood -- and now ISIS -- at home, while financing ISIS and Al Qaeda, among many others, abroad. And Arabia's sons are still flowing abroad in significant numbers to partake in jihad that is forbidden at home. |
