The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This afternoon, an explosive device that was planted on the road side in the district of al-Tajy in northern Baghdad has went off while a vehicle for the federal police was passing in the area,” noting that, “The blast resulted in wounding two policemen.” The source, who requested to remain anonymous, added, “A security force rushed to the area of the incident, while the injured were transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.” 2 More die in bomb attack in southern Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Tuesday, a source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced, that 11 people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast in southern Baghdad. The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, a bomb exploded in Madain area in southern Baghdad, killing two people and wounding nine others.” The source added: “Ambulances rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department, while the security force cordoned off the incident area and prevented approaching it.” 10 ISIS operatives detained in Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Media officials with the Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday, that a terrorist group belonging to the ISIS was detained in the capital Baghdad. The officials said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The Military Intelligence Directorate had managed to detain a terrorist group, consisting of 10 important terrorists, in the capital Baghdad,” pointing out that, “The group had worked within the so-called Wilayat al-Janoub belonging to the ISIS organization and participated in terrorist operations against the security forces and civilians.” |
