| 5 women, 1 man killed by militant attack in southern Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source within the police force announced on Thursday, that five women and a man had been killed in a militant attack by unidentified gunmen in southern Baghdad. The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “In the late hours of yesterday, unidentified gunmen raided a house in the neighborhood of al-Nasr and Salam in the district of Abu Gharib in western Baghdad, resulting in the immediate death of five women and one man.” The source added, “The security forces found the dead inside the house, while opened an investigation into the incident.” 7 people killed, wounded in bomb blast north of Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday, a source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior said, that seven people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast north of Baghdad. The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “This morning, a bomb exploded near a popular market in Taji area north of Baghdad, killing two people and wounding five others.” The source added: “A security force rushed to the area and evacuated the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department, while a raid was carried out to search for the perpetrators of the bombing.” |
