Chad Merchants Say Boko Haram Attacks Hurt Economic Activity | |||

[VOA News] Economic activity has been paralyzed in Chad and northern Cameroon ...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there... following frequent Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... attacks on trucks transporting goods from Nigeria's Borno state to the two central African nations. During the latest attack, suspected Boko Haram members diverted three trucks transporting goods to Chad through Cameroon to an unknown destination.
She has not been paid because business is slow due to regular attacks on the shop's supply trucks. Truck driver Tocba Haman, 45, says he no longer travels to Nigeria for supplies because the Boko Haram terrorist group targets trucks and kills drivers.
