Canada: US shouldn't worry about our resettlement of Syrian refugees
2016-01-29
[Rudaw] Canada has rejected US concerns that its rapid resettlement of thousands of Syrian refugees may pose a threat to it.

"We have put in place layers of security activity to ensure that our refugee initiative with respect to Syria can be successful," the country's public safety minister Ralph Goodale told parliament on Wednesday.

"The program is working well and indeed it will resolve in something that Canadians can be very, very proud of," he added according to AFP.

He also said that Canada has been briefing the United States about their program "and they understand exactly the layers of security screening that are in place."

A spokeswoman for Canada's foreign affairs minister also said that Canada has "emphasized and will continue to emphasize the integrity and robustness of our approach to the selection and screening of the Syrian refugees under consideration."

#7  ^that!
I've had a run in with a rabid gray-squirrel. It is very disconcerting. At first I thought it was an escapee from a park, but no, it didn't seem right. I did what any citizen should do and exercised my shovel. Took it to the county health dept, positive for rabies. Brought in all animals to the vet for testing, all good. A rabid animal should tick off a few alerts,.
Let's talk Trump.

#6  Fluffy is a rottweiler, Nguard?

ANY rabid dog of any breed is a deadly threat, and needs to be put down, not sympathized with. It is the rabies, not the dog breed that is the problem.

Islam = rabies.

#3  Sure, Syrians on the border, never been a problem.
Oh, too cold? they can always move south.

Why don't we hear about Syrians being relocated to the Mexican desert border states?

A U.S. Federal government "understanding" is it? Why do I remain totally unconvinced.
