| U.S.-led coalition bombs ISIS oil facility north Syria |

| QAMISHLI – U.S. and allies launched on Saturday several airstrikes on the ISIS-held northern Syrian province of Raqqa, targeting oil facilities held by the extremist group. One of the oil facilities held by the Islamic State’s (ISIS) jihadis was destroyed completely under the airstrikes, local activists reported. “The coalition renewed its raids on Raqqa, targeting the ISIS tactical units and oil fields,” media activist Muhammad Jamous told ARA News in Raqqa. “An oil refining facility in Raqqa suburb was destroyed due to intensified airstrikes on Saturday,” the source reported. Raqqa is deemed a de facto capital for the ISIS self-declared Caliphate. Also on Saturday, the western coalition’s fighter jets hit a weapons storage center for ISIS in the vicinity of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) in central Syria. The center, which reportedly contained a large deal of ammunition and explosive devices, blew up subsequent to the airstrikes. Noteworthy, the coalition has recently intensified its raids on ISIS tactical units and resources, beside targeting command centers killing a number of leading members of the group. |
