| ASI killed, constable injured in Mardan raid |

| PESHAWAR: One police official was killed and another injured during a raid in the Sajan area of Mardan district on Wednesday morning, District Police Officer Faisal Shahzad said. Police were conducting a raid on the house of a wanted individual, Imran, when they were ambushed, police said, but the suspect, Imran, was hiding in a nearby house belonging to Bakhtaj. During an exchange of fire with the suspects, Assistant Sub-Inspector Sultan Mehmood was killed and Constable Shoaib injured. Constable Shoaib was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Mardan for treatment, and both suspects were arrested during the raid, police said. |
