Cash-strapped ISIS is forced to slash wages, free captives for a 'cut-price' $500 |
2016-02-20 |
ISIS has been forced to cut all wages by half, slash benefits and ration electricity, after a number of air strikes hit their oil and cash reserves. The terrorist organisation has asked residents in its 'capital' Raqqa to pay utility bills and taxes in black market American dollars instead of the local currency, and are are now releasing prisoners for a $500 fee. ISIS has famously used benefits to build up loyalty among their fighters, offering good salaries and bonuses if jihadists get married and have children. However, the terrorist group has now stopped providing even the smaller perks of fighting for ISIS: free energy drinks and Snickers bars. |
