The source said in a press statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, two hand grenades emplaced in the garbage in al-Huseiniya area in northern Baghdad exploded, wounding a civilian while passing in the area.” The source added, on condition of anonymity, “A police force cordoned off the incident area and transferred the wounded to a hospital to receive treatment.” Iraqi army officer dies in shooting (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday, that an Iraqi army officer was killed in an armed attack in western Baghdad. The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a vehicle belonging to a first lieutenant in the Iraqi army in Ghazaliya area in western Baghdad,” pointing out that, “The attack resulted in the killing of the officer in the spot.” The source, who asked anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while carried out a raid and search operations to find the perpetrators of the crime.” |
