| Yemeni army and resistance forces make progress in Taiz |

| Al Arabiya News Tuesday, 23 February 2016 The Yemeni army and popular resistance forces have made considerable progress on several fronts in Taiz, while Houthi militias have continued a bombing campaign of civilians in the city, Al Arabiya News reported. Al-Jawf province in northern Yemen saw fierce fighting between pro-government forces and Houthi militias who are supported by forces of the ousted former president Ali Abdullah Saleh. With pro-government forces making advances on the out outskirts of the capital Sanaa, sources told Al Arabiya News in Sanaa that the coup leaders were attempting to make contact with some of the elders of al-Toq tribe to gain their support. The same tactic has been noticed with ouster Saleh, who in recent days has been sending delegations of his supporters in a bid to gain support against the legitimate government of President Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi. |
