(NDS) said four groups of snuffies comprised of 26 A statement by NDS said the groups were looking to carry out coordinated suicide boom-mobileing in Kandahar city, using a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) and a cycle of violence packed with explosives. The statement further added that one RPG-7 rocket launcher, 9 Ak-47 assault rifles, 8 Improvised Explosive Device (IED), 2 pistols, one communication device and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were also confiscated by the intelligence operatives. The anti-government armed myrmidon groups have not commented regarding the report so far. Kandahar is among the relatively peaceful provinces in southern Afghanistan where fewer insurgency related incidents are reported during the recent months. However, there's more than one way to skin a cat... the anti-government armed myrmidon groups have recently increased to their insurgency activities in various provinces in the south amid rampant Taliban-led insurgency. |
