4 Iraqi militia die in car bomb attack in Salahuddin

(IraqiNews.com) Salahaddin – A security source in Salahuddin Province announced on Tuesday, that 22 members of al-Hashed al-Shaabi were either killed or wounded in a car bomb explosion targeting the security forces in Tikrit Island.

The source said in a press statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “A car bomb driven by a suicide bomber exploded targeting the security forces and al-Hashed al-Shaabi fighters in Tikrit Island, killing four members of al-Hashed al-Shaabi and injuring 18 others.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “The wounded included the military media official in Diyala Province Wael Najm al-Shammari.”

(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – A source in the Joint Operations Command announced on Tuesday, that 15 fighters of the so-called ISIS, mostly Arabs and foreigners, were killed in an air strike launched by Sukhoi jets in western Samarra south of Tikrit (170 km north of Baghdad).

The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The Sukhoi warplanes carried out, at noon today, several strikes on ISIS gatherings, including Arabs and foreigners in a farm belonging to the so-called Abd al-Fattah al-kaim in western Samarra (40 km south of Tikrit), killing about 15 ISIS members.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “The bombardment caused massive bombings due to the presence of ammunition and weapons caches in the area,” pointing out that, “The bombing was carried out based on accurate intelligence information.”

(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – The leader in al-Hashed al-Sha’bi Jabbar Maamouri announced on Tuesday the killing of 12 ISIS members as well as the destruction of six booby-trapped vehicles during a tactical operation north of the province.

Mamouri said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “Security forces backed by al-Hashed al-Sha’bi [militia[ succeeded in achieving a significant incursion into Sharqat Island during a tactical operation north of Salahuddin,” pointing out that, “The operation resulted in killing 12 ISIS militants as well as the destruction of 6 booby-trapped vehicles.”

“The incursion made ISIS in a difficult position to supply its forces which have become almost trapped in Sharqat and nearby areas,” Mamouri also added.
