North Korea leader tells military to be ready to use nuclear weapons at any time
2016-03-04
[REUTERS] North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
ordered his country to be ready to use its nuclear weapons at any time and to turn its military posture to "pre-emptive attack" mode in the face of growing threats from its enemies, state media said on Friday.
One of these days this cackler is gonna give the order because he believes his own propaganda. We really should preemptively turn the place into a scene of fire.
Better to make a deal with China, the ROK, Russia and Japan to divide Nork-land into a province of China (the north part) and a trust territory of the U.N. administered by the ROK (the southern part). The U.S. provides some aid and stays out of the north, China provides some aid and stays out of the south, and Russia behaves (for once). Pudgy and all his evil henchmen, of course, are shot on site.
...and on sight, too.
The comments, carried by the North's official KCNA news agency, marked a further escalation of tension on the Korean peninsula after the U.N. Security Council on Wednesday imposed harsh new sanctions against the isolated state for its nuclear program.

Kim made the comments as he supervised military exercises involving newly developed rocket launchers, KCNA reported. It did not mention the date of the drills but said the new weapons had South Korea within range.

South Korea's defense ministry said on Thursday North Korea launched several projectiles off its coast into the sea up to 150 kilometers (90 miles) away, an apparent response to the U.N. sanctions.

Kim said North Korea should "bolster up (its) nuclear force both in quality and quantity" and stressed "the need to get the nuclear warheads deployed for national defense always on standby so as to be fired any moment," KCNA quoted him as saying.

"Now is the time for us to convert our mode of military counteraction toward the enemies into an preemptive attack one in every aspect."

#9  Will the USN + Japan have enough BMD-capable AEGIS ships to protect the USN CVNS USS "GW" or "RR" from Pudgy/NOKOR - you know, CHINA??

Given as per the SCS ...

* RUSSIA TODAY > US NAVY DEPLOYS A SMALL ARMADA LED BY THE USS CARL STENNIS [NIMITZ-class CVN] TO SOUTH CHINA SEA.

I CVN, 2 CGS, 2 DDGS, + the good ole BLUR RIDGE ACC.

OTOH its been Obama Admin andor US Fed-DOD underlings that have been making statements lately, NOT THE BAMMER HIMSELF???

ARTIC DOESN'T INDICATE IFF USN WASHIPS WERE KEPT JUST OUTSIDE THE 12-NM LIMITS, OR SAILED WIDIN THE 12-NM LIMIT???

* RELATED NAVY TIMES > THE US NAVY JUST SENT A CARRIER STRIKE GROUP TO CONFRONT CHINA.

VERSUS

* DEFENCE.PK/FORUMS > STATEMENT OF THE PRC ON ESCALATIONS IN THE SOUTH CHINA SEA - " ... THE PRC [People's Republic of China] WILL DEPLOY
"DEFENSIVE PATROLS" TO SAFEGUARD ALL OF CHINA'S TERRITORIES AND NATIONALS, PRC HAS MORE ROBUST MILITARY CAPACITY ON STANDBY IFF NEEDED.

* SAME > [Naval-Today] US AIRCAT CARRIER PATROLS CONESTED SOUTH CHINA SEA, SHADOWED BY CHINESE WARSHIPS.

* GLOBAL TIMES > NO MORE SHIP GROUNDING TRICKS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE SOUTH CHINA SEA.

YOOHOO, PHILIPINES, CHINA MEANS YOU!

* DEFENCE.PK/FORUMS > CHINA IS MAKING A BET THAT NO ONE WILL START A WAR OVER ITS [SCS] ISLAND-BUILDING.

* WORLD MILITARY FORUM > CHINA'S DEPLOYEMNT OF LR DF-21D, DF-26 BALLISTIC MISSLES OR ASBMS RENDERS GUAM USELESS TO THE US AS AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER STAGING BASE.

* SAME > US CONGRESS-APPROVED END TO THE COMPACT OF FREE ASSOCIATION [CFA] WITH MICRONESIAN ISLAND STATES GIVES CHINA AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEPARATE US MILITARY BASES ON GUAM FROM THOSE IN HAWAII, DEVELOP PACIFIC ISLANDS FOR CHINA'S USE.

YUUUP.

Ex-USN WW2 Fleet bases in Ulithi, Kawajalein, + Eniwetok, besides the ex-IJN base at Chuuk/Truk Lagoon.

#8  I'm more inclined to think "China-ordered, NOKOR-fired".

Keeping the "status quo" on the Korean Peninsula = China's already excessive percentage share = domination of NOKOR trade will likely only increase to near 100.0% in due time, not less. COUNTING THE CIRCA 80,000-100,000 PLA TROOPS THAT ARE ALREADY BASED IN NOKOR MAINLY TO PROTECT THE KIM REGIME FROM ORDINARY NORTH KOREANS, IOW BEIJING DOSN'T REALLY HAVE TO FIGHT A WAR WID THE US-ALLIES TO TAKE OVER NOKOR.

And despite any risk that Pudgy = KJU may do something to unilaterally or asymetrically start a major US-China war to prevent NOKOR from being taken over or annexed by China, SOKOR will broadly or subjectively support Pudgy in his effort to force NOKOR-SOKOR reunification as this may be the only or last chance for de facto Inter-Korean reunification before NOKOR is forever lost to China.

* Lest we fergit, VARIOUS NET > USFK CHIEF/COMMANDER: KIM JONG-UN MAY USE WMDS TO SAVE/PROTECT HIS REGIME [ + DPRK = North Korea].

Not unlike the US-USSR Cold war + Berlin Wall, SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE, + GIVE SOONER NOT LATER.

Only time will tell how US-SOKOR, ETAL. relations will be harmed, + the Balance of Power in North/NE Asia will be changed, iff NOKOR is lost to de facto Chinese takeover or annexation.

What about the part that glows in the dark?
