Pakistan tells US lawmakers terrorists trying to undo their state
2016-03-11
[DAWN] Pakistain has reminded US politicians that gunnies have killed thousands of Pak soldiers and civilians only because the country supports the US-led war against terrorists.

In a letter to a senior Republican Senator, Rand Paul, Pakistain’s Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani referred to a US intelligence document, which quotes the late Osama bin Laden
... who doesn't live anywhere anymore...
as asking his followers to attack the Pak state and it’s military because of their anti-terrorism partnership with the United States.

Senator Paul leads the congressional campaign to block a proposed sale of eight F-16 fighter jets to Pakistain.

He sent a letter to his colleagues earlier this week, claiming that it was "past time" to demand accountability from Pakistain whose "coziness" with gunnies has harmed the US military.

Senator Paul has also introduced a joint resolution of disapproval in the Senate, which may come up for hearing this week.

Last month, the US government approved the sale of the fighter jets, along with radar and electronic warfare equipment, in a deal worth $700 million.

Senator Paul is using the obscure Arms Export Control Act of 1976 to try and stop the sale, labelling Pakistain "an uncertain ally", which could not be trusted with sophisticated US weapons.
