| Coordinated attack foiled in Jalalabad city, 7 Taliban militants arrested |

| [Khaama (Afghanistan)] A coordinated attack plot by the Talibs was thwarted in Jalalabad city, the thriving provincial capital of eastern Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. province of Afghanistan. The Afghan Intelligence -- National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... (NDS) said a group of 7 Talibs were locked away Please don't kill me! in connection to the attack plot. A statement by NDS said the group was nabbed during a special militar operation conducted by the intelligence operatives. No further details were given regarding the exact location and time where the operation was conducted and the possible target of the Lion of Islams. The statement by NDS further added that the group was looking to launch the attack using assault rifles and rocket propelled grenade launcher. NDS said the detained murderous Moslems have been identified as Rohullah son of Gul Marjan who is also famous as Eisa, Javid son of Syed-ur-Rehman, Jamil-ur-Rehman sona of Abdul Qayum who is also famous as Khalid. Zewar Kan son of Syeda Jan who is also famous as Omar, Omar son of Khan Syed Shahabuddin son of Mohammad Azim, and Mohammad son of Haji Hina Gul. The Taliban Lion of Islam groups have not commented regarding the report so far. |
