America to Establishment: Who the hell are you people ?
2016-03-25
[MCCLATCHYDC] The people who spend two bucks for chili at the Courtesy Diner at Laclede Station Road can’t fathom why anyone would pay Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as the Smartest Woman in the World and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Al Haig ...
$225,000 to make a speech.

Nor can they understand why the U.S. Senate is taking a 17-day break for Easter after spending much of their time last week fuming over the Supreme Court vacancy. Somehow, people all over America are saying loudly and clearly this election year, Washington and its enablers -- the media, the political pros and Wall Street -- don’t understand us.

That’s why, all over this slice of middle America, exasperated people got up before dawn on a cold, 37-degree morning recently to spend four hours in a line so long that from its end people couldn’t even see the Peabody Opera House, where they would hear Donald Trump. And it wasn’t just Trump. In the next two days, other folks nearby lined up to hear the outsider talk from Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
, Ind.-Vt.

They share the same grievance. In 2016 America, the deepest divide is not between Democrats and Republicans. It’s not even between conservatives and liberals. It’s between Us and Them -- the people versus The Establishment.

#14  Give me the baffoon's checking account, or a least one of them, or even just the interest he's pulling.

Is "interest" the new slang for---oh, wait, you're talking about money.

#13  Raj, do pensions reflect a significant fraction of the income of retired politicians? Or does it come from speeches, sinecures, and the like?

#12  Better to ask if he's a buffoon or is he acting that way on purpose than to ask if he's incompetent of if he's doing it to us on purpose.

#11  Donald Trump who is a buffoon

Give me the baffoon's checking account, or a least one of them, or even just the interest he's pulling.

#10  The problem is the media has been covering for them forever and the media no longer has any credibility. They no longer have a figleaf to hide their lies behind.

#9  Donald Trump who is a buffoon

I wonder how many people who got the short end in their dealings with Trump, afterward cursed themselves for buying into his buffoon act?

#8  Who are they? A society of sociopaths who have been extremely successful in gaining control of government, media and finance for the purpose of sucking the rest of us dry. Like parasites they are now in danger of killing their host. Then along comes a guy like Donald Trump who is a buffoon, a loud mouth, a brash and somewhat vulgar loose cannon who speaks the language of the people instead of the alien dialect they've been hearing from the Establishment. Judging by the way these Establishment types are squealing it would at least appear that Trump is not one of them.

#7  How do you hold the enablers accountable? I mean the Press and cronies and bankers and people like Soros who have been aiding and abetting this bunch for decades.

It's a quid pro quo arrangement.

#5  Washington and its enablers -- the media, the political pros and Wall Street -- don’t understand us.

I think they understand you alright---else all of them would have to get real jobs.

#4  Well, you burn it down or I will.

Go to the back yonder and get yourself a switch. Ensure it is appropriate size switch .

Do it now, or you will be beyond discipline.

#3  Revoke / phase out pensions for elected officials. That would be a good start, at a bare minimum. Also - shitcan or RIF 10,000 goons from the IRS (estimated 80,000 employees) as punishment for their targeting of the Tea Party groups.

#2  Who the hell are they?

They're that tiny little spot that was ignored until it became a tumor.

#1  And the establishment Repub and Dems either do not have a clue, or they think that they are above the people and don't give a rat's behind. When things get really bad, read about the abdication of Louis XVI of France. Good learning experience to know what happens to the peasants when they REALLY get pi$$ed off, and have nothing to lose.
