Playing hardball: ISIS executes deserters' family members

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – A local source in Nineveh Province announced on Sunday, that the so-called ISIS executed 12 of its fighters’ relatives who were previously working with the security forces in Mosul, while pointed out that one of ISIS fighters executed his brother and cousin on charges of cooperating with the security forces.

The source said in a brief statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “ISIS executed 12 of its fighters’ relatives who were previously working with the security directorates in Mosul, after the air strike that were carried out by the Iraqi Army Aviation and US-led coalition aviation on ISIS headquarters in the University of Mosul.”

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, added, “One of ISIS members also executed his brother and cousin on charges of cooperating with the security forces.”

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan spokesman in Nineveh Gayath al-Surji revealed on Sunday, that the so-called ISIS Wali of Ba’aj was killed in an air strike southwest of the province.

Surji said in a press statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Today the international coalition aviation bombarded ISIS headquarters in Nineveh, killing a group of ISIS militants, including the so-called ISIS Wali of Ba’aj Mohamed al-Shamri, who was also known as Abu Mariam.”

Surji added, “The coalition aviation also targeted a number of ISIS headquarters in Nineveh and managed to kill 10 ISIS militants.”

400 families flees areas in Ninevah

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – An informed source within the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan announced on Sunday, that more than 400 families left their homes in villages northeast of Makhmour District and headed to the center of the district.

The source said in a press statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “More than 400 families have fled from the villages of Khrbirdan, Kodellh and Muhana northwest of Makhmour District towards the center of the district,” indicating that, “The displaced people left their areas in search of safer areas for their lives after clashes had erupted between Iraqi forces and ISIS militants,” pointing out that, “The concerned authorities are preparing to set up a camp in a safe area in the district of Makhmour.”
