NDS seize 118 weapons with over 20,000 ammunition rounds in Parwan |

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A large cache of weapons and ammunition was confiscated by the Afghan cops from northern Parwan province of Afghanistan. The Afghan Intelligence -- National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... (NDS) said the cache included 118 various types of weapons and 20,200 rounds of ammunition. A statement by NDS said the cache included 93 pistols, 10 Ak-47 rifles, 9 Ak-74 rifles, 4 Ak-74U, 2 M4 rifles The statement further added that the cache included 11,200 rounds of pistol ammunition and 9,000 rounds of Ak-47 ammunition. It was not clear if any suspect was detained in connection to the storage of the weapons and ammunition. The anti-government armed Lion of Islam groups have not commented regarding the report so far. Parwan is among the relatively volatile provinces in northern Afghanistan where anti-government armed forces of Evil are actively operating in a number of its remote districts and often carry out insurgency activities. Various criminal gangs involved in arms smuggle and other criminal activities including murder and kidnappings are also operating in this province which largely contribute to the growing instability of Parwan. |
