Republicans Better Pay Attention to Bernie
2016-03-29
h/t Instapundit
Most Republicans and their presidential candidates (when they're not bashing each other like four-year-olds) are focused on Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee, living in fear that the Department of Justice will give a pass to the former secretary of state on her email and foundation malfeasances, even if the FBI recommends indictments.

And where is the FBI anyway? What's taking them so long?

But this has not been a good few days for Mrs. Clinton. First she lost in three states by stunning margins to Bernie Sanders, who garnered 71% of the vote in Hawaii, 73% in Washington, and and a huge 81% in Alaska.

Then it got worse.
Cue the theme from 'Jaws'...
The L.A. Times reported that FBI interviews were finally looming for Mrs. Clinton and her close aides Huma Abedin, Jake Sullivan, Cheryl Mills and Philippe Reines. And 147 FBI agents are now officially said to be involved. That's a lot of investigative power being applied to one case (or group of cases) and a lot of potential leakers if the DOJ rejects an indictment.

Republicans should be paying attention to this phenomenon -- the rise of Bernie -- because it's scary. Its results could be worse than a Hillary presidency, actually a lot worse. And, as I just mentioned, he's beating everyone in the polls in both parties. You may think that will evaporate by itself or in the back and forth of a general election campaign -- and I hope you're right. But what if it doesn't?
Remember, in June 2008 the Pubs thought they had the opponent they wanted...

#7  I see what you did there, g(r)om, but I had to use the computer as a magnifying glass.

#6  The Fraggle comes across as genuine

Why am I reminded of Lev Davidovich Bronstein?

#5  I think that's it Abu, or the impression I get. During their debates or whatnots The Fraggle comes across as genuine while Hillary! going through the motions like a drinking bird.

I think the reason everyone is freaking out about the coming election is that whatever ass is elected, for the last 8 years Congress has bid itself out of any check vs. Executive and Judicial branches.

#4  One of the comments asked In what way is Sanders intrinsically more socialist than Hillary Clinton or Obama?

Good question. Can't say that I really have the right answer. But my impression is that Sanders is more genuinely committed to his ideology while Obama and Clinton are just plain criminals.

#3  If you look at Bernie just right, and he's holding his head just right, you can kinda sorta see a resemblance to Vladimir Lenin.

What? You say that's not the same as comparing someone to Adolf Hitler?

#2  Sorry RJS, but the FBI can't indict anyone. It refers the case to the DoJ for that.

What do you think Zero will want to do with it?

#1  FBI is taking so long for two reasons (1) If Bernie pulls ahead there will be less heat than if they indicted the frontrunner (2) If they do have to indict the frontrunner they better be certain of 100% guilt or they are all going to be the villains of the century as far as the media is concerned.
