| Diplomatic quarter planned for foreign missions in Jalalabad |

| [Khaama (Afghanistan)] A diplomatic quarter has been planned for foreign missions in Jalalabad city, capital of eastern Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. province. Hifzullah Ishaqzai, head of the foreign affairs of Nangarhar said on Wednesday that efforts have been made to implement the project. While talking to a gathering organized to celebrate 100 years of the friendship between Kabul ...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the Worldand didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either.... and Germany, Ishaqzai added that the diplomatic quarter would be built close to the Governor House. He further said that consulates of India, Pakistain, Iran, and as well other foreign offices operating in Jalalabad would move there. Meanwhilek, spokesperson for the Governor House said that construction of the diplomatic quarter would begin this year. Attaullah Khogyani did not specify a date for it. Residents of Jalalabad had been demanding foreign missions to vacate populated areas since long ago saying that they come under occasional attacks. Most of the victims of these attacks have been recorded civilians who had been living or working in surrounding areas by the time of the attacks. |
