earlier tonight, leaving at least 4 people dead and 20 others maimed.
According to the security officials, the kaboom took place after a vehicle packed with explosives exploded near a bus carrying police personnel.
The officials further added that 4 coppers were killed in the kaboom while civilians and police personnel were among the 20 maimed.
No group has so far grabbed credit behind the incident which comes as Turkey has been hit by a string of attacks during the recent months.
The southeast Turkey where the incident took place this evening has been mainly rocked by waves of violence since a ceasefire between the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and the government collapsed last July.
