| [DAWN] QUETTA: Two suspected gunnies were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Saruna area of Kalat district on Friday. Official sources said personnel of Frontier Corps ...a provincial paramilitary force. Total manpower is about 80,000. They are tasked to help local law enforcement in the maintenance of law and order, and to carry out border patrol and anti-smuggling operations.... and intelligence agencies were conducting a search operation on information about the presence of gunnies in the area when the gunnies started firing on them. The FC and intelligence personnel returned fire and the ensuing gunbattle lasted two hours, resulting in the death of two murderous Moslems. "The gunnies killed in the gunbattle belonged to the banned murderous Moslem organization Lashkar-e-Balochistan," a front man for the FC claimed. He said that arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession. |
