[Bangkok Post] An assistant village leader and a villager were gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Narathiwat province on Wednesday morning. The attack took place on a road facing rubber plantations in Rueso district. Police found two bodies inside a pickup truck. Both had been shot multiple times. Spent AK rifle cartridges were found scattered across the road. An investigation showed that Mr Rosadan was traveling when two attackers on a motorcycle followed and the pillion rider opened fire. Before fleeing, the gunman got off the bike to take a pistol from the dead assistant village chief. Police believed the attack is linked to southern insurgency. |
