| Taliban militants suffer casualties after attacking Kunar security posts |

| [Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Talibs suffered casualties after attacking security posts in eastern Kunar province ... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country..... of Afghanistan, local officials said. Provincial police chief General Abdul Habib Syed Khel said Talibs launched coordinated attacks on security posts in Marwara and Sarkano districts earlier today. He said festivities still continued between the turbans and Afghan cops, leaving at least 9 Talibs dead. Gen. Syed Khel further added that a policeman also sustained injuries during the shootout with the Talibs. Talibs grabbed credit behind the attack and said heavy casualties were incurred to the security personnel. However, by candlelight every wench is handsome... the local security officials have rejected the Taliban claims as baseless. Kunar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed Lion of Islam groups including the Taliban murderous Moslems are actively operating in a number of its districts and frequently carry out insurgency activities. |
