[Daily Excelsior] Police today said a Hizbul Mujahideen worker, who was involved in the recruitment of the youth, has been incarceratedDrop the rod and step away witcher hands up! from Baramulla district of North Kashmire. A police front man said here that Ghulam Ahmad Sofi alias Jany Baba of Juhama area of Baramulla was arrested along with two live grenades and a satellite phone. The front man said Sofi was involved in recruiting local youth for terrorist activities. "During the course of investigation it was found that he was affiliated with banned terrorist organization Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and was working for the revival and expansion of the banned outfit in the Kashmire valley, particularly in Baramulla. Further investigation in this matter is going on," he said. In this regard, a case under FIR number 84/16 under Section 7/25 Arms Act has been registered in Police Station Baramulla, the front man added. |
