100 escape ISIS controlled territory

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – The Migration and Displaced Department in Kirkuk Province announced on Thursday, that more than 100 people escaped from the areas controlled by the so-called ISIS in Kirkuk (250 km north of Baghdad), while emphasized that the Peshmerga forces secured their entry into the city.

The Director of Migration and Displaced Department Ammar Sabah said in a brief statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “101 people managed to escape from the areas controlled by ISIS in the province of Kirkuk, including women and children,” adding that, “The Peshmerga forces facilitated their entry into the city of Kirkuk.”

Sabah pointed out, “The Migration and Displaced Department transferred them to internally displaced people’s camps.”

Noteworthy, ISIS controlled the areas south and west of Kirkuk since June 2014.

Girl wounded escaping Kirkuk

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – Kirkuk Police Command announced on Thursday, that a girl was injured in a bomb blast that targeted a family escaping from ISIS southwest of the province.

Kirkuk Police chief, Maj. Gen. Sarhad Qader, said in a brief statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, an explosive device in the axis of Tal-Ward in the vicinity of al-Rashad (30 km southwest of Kirkuk) has went off targeting a family escaping from ISIS in the district of al-Sharqat,” indicating that, “The [blast] resulted in wounding a 15-year-old girl.”

Qader added, “A force from Peshmerga transferred the girl to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

2 Iraqi militiamen die defusing bomb

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – Kirkuk Police Command announced on Thursday, that two elements of the paramilitary al-Hashed al-Sha’bi force had been killed while dismantling an explosive device planted by ISIS in the village of Bshir south of the province.

Kirkuk Police chief, Maj. Gen. Sarhad Qader, said in a press statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, two elements of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi attempted to defuse an explosive device that was emplaced by ISIS elements inside one of the houses in the village of Bshir located in the vicinity of Taza Khurmatu (25 km south of Kirkuk),” pointing out that, “The IED went off while being dismantled, resulting in the immediate death of the two elements of al-Hashed.”
