2 kops die in small arms attack on kop shop

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A police source revealed on Thursday, that the attack that targeted the police station west of Baghdad either killed ow wounded 6 people, mostly policemen.

The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The outcome of the attack that targeted al-Eintsar police station west of Baghdad, this morning, reached 2 dead, including the station’s police chief, and 4 wounded.”

The source, who requested to be anonymous, added, “A security force cordoned off the incident area, while transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department.”

2 die in bomb attack in al-Obeidi

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior asserted on Thursday, that nine people had been either killed or injured in a bomb blast east of Baghdad.

The source, who requested anonymity, said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, an explosive device went off near a number of shops in the area of al-Obeidi east of Baghdad, resulting in the death of two persons and wounding seven others.”

“A security force rushed to the area of the incident, while transferred the injured to a nearby hospital to receive medical treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine authority,” the source added.

1 dead in sniper attack in al-Latifiyah

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior said on Thursday, that a soldier had been killed and an army officer was injured by a sniper in al-Latifiyah area south of Baghdad.

The source said in a brief statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, a sniper targeted a [security] checkpoint for the Iraqi army in the vicinity of al-Latifiyah south of Baghdad, resulting in the death of one soldier and wounding an officer,” adding that, “A security force rushed to the area of the incident and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital to receive medical treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine authority.”
