[RFE/RL] Police in the Russian republic of Dagestan say two police officers and four militants were killed in clashes on May 14.Police spokesperson Fatina Ubaidatova said the battles began when police forces came across armed rebels while searching an apartment building in the city of Derbent. She said the rebels threw a grenade at the police and took a injured officer hostage. Ubaidatova said the police stormed the apartment after obtaining information that the injured officer had died. Interfax, citing law enforcement officials, said at least four rebels were killed in the apartment.
Daesh claimed its fighters were behind the attack.
