The Target boycott has reached a boiling point ‐ and sales may suffer as a result
2016-05-16
That's the problem with public virtue signalling -- it's usually polarizing, annoying at least half of potential customers. It's because of the risk of lost sales that wise business managers avoid politics like the plague it always becomes.
[YAHOO] Target is facing a nationwide backlash for its support of transgender rights.

More than 1.2 million people have signed a pledge to boycott the retailer after it announced last month that it would welcome transgender customers to use any bathroom or fitting room that matches their gender identity.

Critics have been holding protests and demonstrations at stores across the country, and they are showing no signs of dying down.

#6  Target has doubled down on rape friendly bathrooms. They are counting on this all blowing over in a few weeks. This needs to go to the next level. 1. Cancel Target store cards. 2. Target marginal locations where a 5% drop in business means closing the store.

#5  Simply require single use. Have a sign occupied or available. Lock also. Temporarily provide port a potties to provide convince if needed. Have a required voice recording say "Deal with it" for the impatient ones.

#4  ...Will be interesting to see what happens next - Target doesn't dare reverse the policy, lest they be called Hateful, Uncaring, Etc., but if the numbers drop they gotta do something.

#3  There is respect for diversity. Then there is cramming your aberrant mental condition down other's throats. This is the latter.

#2  What do the stockholders feel about it? I hear that Target lost about $2.5B (that's BILLION) of stock value since he made his pronouncement.
The Board will not be happy.

#1  I have seen a big drop off in customers at my local Target. Cornell should have taken the opportunity to STFU, just like his competitors did. Bad quarter, bye bye Brian. If not sooner.
