city earlier this afternoon after the Death Eaters fired several rockets on the provincial governor’s compound.
The Herat police confirmed that the Death Eaters had planted the rockets in a rickshaw from where they targeted the provincial governor’s compound.
At least two of the rockets impacted the governor’s compound and the other rocket hit another rickshaw near the governor’s compound, the police officials said.
They also added that a civilian was killed and seven others were maimed in the attack.
No group including the Taliban has so far grabbed credit behind the incident.
Herat is among the relatively peaceful provinces in western Afghanistan however the anti-government armed krazed killer groups have increased to their insurgency activities during the recent months.
The latest attack on the provincial government compound comes as Afghanistan is preparing to inaugurate Salma dam which has been built with the financial support of India.
