2 die in bombing attack at al-Yusufiya
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Tuesday, a source in the Ministry of Interior announced, that ten people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast in southern Baghdad.
The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “This morning, a bomb exploded near a fruits and vegetables market in al-Yusufiya vicinity in southern Baghdad, killing two people and wounding eight others.”
The source, who requested anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department, while strict procedures were taken in anticipation of the presence of other bombs.”
Sniper kills 1 Iraqi kop, wounds 2 others
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday, that three police members had been either killed or wounded by a sniper fire in southern Baghdad.
The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “This morning, a sniper opened fire at a police checkpoint in Arab Jabour village in al-Dawra area in southern Baghdad, killing one of its members and wounding two others.”
The source, who requested anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while a raid operation was carried out to search for the sniper.”

The source said in a brief statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, an explosive device went off near the medical center in the area of al-Za’faraniya, southeast of Baghdad, resulting in the death of one person and wounding six others,” adding that, “Ambulances rushed to the area of the incident and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine authority.”
