| ISIS artillery hits gas company near Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – On Tuesday, a source in the Peshmerga forces announced, that ISIS has attacked the headquarters of North Gas Company in western Kirkuk (250 km north of Baghdad) with four Katyusha rockets. The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “ISIS attacked the headquarters of North Gas Company, before noon today, with four Katyusha rockets, without causing any casualties.” The source, who asked anonymity, added, “ISIS is continuously targeting the headquarters of the company in an attempt to stop it from functioning.” 1 dead in bomb attack near al-Riyad (IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk province said on Tuesday, that a civilian had been killed and two others were injured in an explosion that targeted escaping families from ISIS-controlled areas southwest of the province. The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “An explosive device that was emplaced on the road side in the area of Maktab Khaled, southwest of Kirkuk, went off against escaping families from the ISIS held-[areas] in the vicinity of al-Riyad (40 km southwest of Kirkuk), resulting in the death of one civilian and wounding two others.” The source also added, “A force from the Peshmerga evacuated the dead body to the forensic medicine authority and the injured to Kirkuk Hospital for medical treatment.” |
