Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. province. The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the operations were conducted in Bati Kot district of Nangarhar by the Afghan armed forces. MoD further added that 7 other turbans affiliated with the terror group were also maimed during the operations. There are no reports regarding the casualties of the Afghan soldiers during the operations. The loyalists of the terror group are believed to have significant presence in some parts of eastern Nangarhar province. In the meantime, the Afghanistan National Security Council (NSC) on Monday approved in principle the strategy to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group as the loyalists of the terror group are attempting to expand foothold in the country. The Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANSDF) together with the US forces in Afghanistan are regularly targeting the loyalists of the terror group. |
