Desmond Tutu backs Marwan Barghouthi for Nobel Peace Prize
2016-06-10
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] South African archbishop Desmond Tutu nominated imprisoned Paleostinian political figure Marwan Barghouthi for the Nobel Peace Prize on Monday.
Red Arch supports convicted murderer? What more could one expect ?
In a letter sent to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Tutu wrote of Barghouthi being a symbol of the Paleostinian people and their "struggle for freedom, [which] constitutes a clear signal of support for the realization of the Paleostinian people’s inalienable rights, including to self-determination."

Barghouthi’s plight has been known worldwide. The first of several Paleostinian parliamentarians to be kidnapped and imprisoned in 2002 by Israel, for many, he stands as a symbol of injustice against the Israeli occupation.

In the letter, Tutu spoke of Barghouthi's continuous advocacy for lasting peace, despite years of imprisonment and isolation.
Sorry Bishop Des, no Boden's Mate for you. King Obama just endorsed the Hildebeest.

#4  Well, Obama got the Prize and he has conducted the longest wars in U.S. history. I guess the idea of "peace" has changed in the past few years.
