Drone protest at Ramstein Airbase Germany
2016-06-12
[BI] Several thousand demonstrators formed a human chain along the perimeter of a U.S. Air Force Base in southwest Germany on Saturday in protest against drone operations by the United States.

The demonstration was organized by the alliance "Stop Ramstein - No Drone War", which says the Ramstein base transmits information between operators in the United States and unmanned drone aircraft in places such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Syria.

Police estimated 3-4,000 people had formed the chain close to the base, which serves as the headquarters for the U.S. Air Forces in Europe. Organizers spoke of 5-7,000 people. No comment was available on Saturday from officials at Ramstein.

#7  It's either this or push back against the Muslim invasion, and they're sure as hell not doing that.

Those people are dangerous!

You can't have "courageous dissent" without a safe space, after all.

#6  Just a chance to hold hands in the rain with lefty chicks.

Maybe some of that Gemütlichkeit in the evening?

#4  Reports from our Rantburg correspondent in GE indicate Ramstein was not "surrounded." The base exit to Landstuhl was the site of protests.

It might help to think of Ramstein as the GITMO of Europe. It has always been a prickly thorn to the communists and the left.
