Khalidiya offensive begins
(IraqiNews.com) BAGHDAD – Al-Hashed Al-Shaabi Command in Anbar province announced on Saturday that the liberation operations of Khalidiya Island to the east of Ramadi (110 km west of Baghdad) has begun.
The leadership of al-Hashed al-Shaabi in Anbar province in a statement said, “Iraqi forces, assisted by members of al-Hashd al-Shaabi, have begun storming into Khalidiya island, 20 km east of Ramadi.”
Iraqi forces attack in four directions
(IraqiNews.com) ANBAR – Khalidiya Council Chairman in Anbar, Ali Daoud, informed on Saturday that the security forces have entered Khalidiya Island from four sides.
Daoud, in a press statement, said, “Iraqi Security Forces entered Khalidiya Island, 23 km east of Ramadi), from four directions. ISIS resistance is weak in the areas and the villages of Khalidiya.”
“Over 20 ISIS members were killed in aerial bombings jointly carried out by the International Coalition Aviation and Iraqi Air Force at Albu Bali area in Khalidiya. ISIS’ anti-armors and tanks were also destroyed in the bombing.”
ISIS masses troops to hit Heet
(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Heet Council in Anbar province revealed on Saturday that ISIS is mobilizing its members in Heet Island to attack the district center.
The head of Heet Council, Mohammad al-Hiti said, “ISIS has begun massing its fighters in Heet Island and have begun preparation to attack Heet district (70 km west of Ramadi). Urgent military operation is required to prevent this advance.”
