[Inquirer] At least two soldiers were injured during a clash between Philippine troops and New People's Army militants in Monkayo, Compostela Valley on Thursday afternoon. The encounter occured as troops were on patrol at a hinterland community in Baylo village. Regional police spokesperson Andrea dela Cerna said the soldiers were fired upon by armed men believed to be NPA guerrillas, triggering a 15-minute battle.
