| Iranian artillery pounds Kurd positions in Erbil |

| (IraqiNews.com) Erbil – Sidakan Directorate announced on Thursday that Iranian artillery has launched a blistering attack on border areas north of Erbil. The Mayor of Sidakan town Karwan Karimkhan said, “The Iranian artillery shelled the border areas of Sidekan,” noting that “the attack resulted in the burning and destroying large tracts of forests and orchards.” Karimkhan added that, “The attack sparked panic among residents, forcing farmers to leave their fields for fear of being subjected to artillery shelling.” Iran has begun shelling inside the Kurdistan Region under pretext of the presence of forces and bases belonging to the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI). |
