| Two police officers gunned down in Dagestan |

| [RFE/RL] Two traffic police officers were killed by unknown attackers in Dagestan on August 12. The incident took place near the western city of Izberbash. The Investigative Committee said that the attackers gunned down the police officers and took away their firearms. On August 11, Daghestani police killed four suspected militants in Daghestan's western district of Botlikh. |
