Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards: Donald Trump welcome, ‘but not for a photo-op’
2016-08-20 | |
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said Friday that GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump is more than welcome in the state if he plans on helping flood victims, but not if it’s just for a photo-op to gain voters. "Donald Trump hasn’t called the governor to inform him of his visit," the Democrat’s office said in a statement. "We welcome him to LA, but not for a photo-op."
"Instead we hope he’ll consider volunteering or making a sizable donation to the LA Flood Relief Fund to help the victims of this storm," the governor’s statement added. The Advocate, the state’s largest daily newspaper, issued an editorial Thursday calling on President B.O. to cut his vacation in Martha’s Vineyard short so he could assess the damage in person, but the governor said a presidential visit would divert emergency resources that are already spread thin. The Donald donated an 18-wheeler full of supplies.

#16 Sean Penn show up yet? "And if he would like to make a donation, my nephew has a NGO for flood victims." Besides, with Obama's fear of water hazards and Hillary!s incontinence, can't expect them to go to the flood. |

#15 Coat and tie not required. Seriously not required. Also try Prejean's off I-49 if you haven't already. And if you get to NO with a big appetite, Shipman is right about Mother's. |

#14 Loaded Hawks in the GPS, Matt. Thanks! We'll be in the area sometime late next spring and may have half a day to spare getting lost in Acadia Parish looking for it. |

#12 I was gonna mention Old Tyme, really. Same owner as BJ's in Broussard, which has the same sandwiches and plate lunches as well. |

#11 The serious crawfish connoisseur goes to Hawk's. But it's harder to find than a true statement made by Hillary. |

#9 The series is narrated in first person perspective by Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress and a telepath in the fictional town of Bon Temps in northwestern Louisiana. |

#8 ??? Bon Temps is a grill here in Lafayette; I've never eaten there, though. If you come, be sure to come to the Blue Dog Cafe. Glenmore and the Huntress eat there when they're in town. |

#6 Edwards (D) can say what he wants. However, Trump has created businesses in Louisiana that will be there long after Edwards is gone. On the plus side for Edwards, he has managed to stay out of jail but then the Billary's have also managed to stay out of jail. |

#5 I advise all to visit or at least Google-up Bon Temps. Perhaps Snowy will asplain. |

#3 #2 I wonder how much of a bottleneck FEMA will be this time around. It won't matter--none of the media will report it. They're in the bag for Cankles. |

#1 I'm sure given 0bean's character that the governor won't need to issue the same warning to him. |
