| Lyari gang-war leader among two suspects arrested in Karachi |

It is the smallest town by area in the city but also the most densely populated. Lyari has few schools, substandard hospitals, a poor water system, limited infrastructure, and broken roads. It is a stronghold of ruling Pakistan Peoples Party. Ubiquitous gang activity and a thriving narcotics industry make Lyari one of the most disturbed places in Karachi, which is really saying a lot.... gang-war leader ’Mulla Zubair’ in an operation conducted at the city's Maripur area, the police said on Sunday. The suspect belonged to the Uzair Baloch group. Moreover, two more suspects were arrested by the Rangers from Nayabad and Mahmoodabad areas of Lyari were handed over to Lyari police. One of the accused, Sajid, belongs to the infamous Rauf Nazim group allegedly and was wanted by the police in crimes of serious nature such as murders, extortion and police encounters.Police arrested another suspect in Nazimabad who used to rent cars and sold them afterwards. |
