Baltimore Residents Beg Police To Protect Their Neighborhoods
2016-08-30
[DAILYCALLER] As Justice Department civil rights lawyers held a meeting to talk about overhauling the Baltimore police department, another group of Baltimore residents gathered to beg the police to fix the crime in their neighborhoods.

The meetings show a disconnect between those who are concerned about crime and those worried about police reform, reports the Washington Post. Neither group was aware the other one was meeting.

About 40 people, most of them older black women, gathered in a West Baltimore church basement to ask police to return order to their community.

A gas station owner whose parking lot had been taken over by loiterers begged for help; a 17-year old was also fatally shot there. Another man asked about the foot patrol officers that were promised to the community.

#9  What we need to do is rebuild Detroit as a welfare city and anyone who is on lifetime welfare and hates the police can move there, leaving the other communities alone.

Not enough razor wire for that...

Ain't no way I'm going in there.

#6  Unfortunately these folks are probably in the majority but are afraid of the more silent minority.

It was black preachers that convinced Reagan to increase punishment for Crack laws. Those same preachers disappeared when it turned out harsher punishments didn't detour junkies and folks were calling Reagan racist for the law.

W. tried to speak to these same groups. The stable core of the black community but they were silent when Katina hit and everyone was calling W a racist.

The black community is not a monolith and the stable ones are easily cowed by social pressure.

#5  Move the entire DoJ to Baltimore. It's an easy commute to DC and environs.

#4  Hmmm...best way to address this is for DoJ civil rights lawyers to be housed for TDY to Baltimore in those neighborhoods.

#3  And here I thought that "actions have consequences" is just a DWEM rhetorical device.

#1  One should not foul their nest. Baltimore, send your complaints to Obama and the disgraced "Fast-And-Furious" Holder. They started this fire.
