ISIS abducts 40 civilians from Hawija

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk province informed on Tuesday that ISIS abducted 40 civilians from Hawija while they were trying to escape from the ISIS-controlled areas to the south-west of the province.

Sharing details the source said, “ISIS abducted 40 civilians from Hawija. The abductors took the victims to the district center”.

“The abductees were intending to escape from the ISIS-controlled areas to Kirkuk and Salah al-Din,” further added the source seeking anonymity.

It may be mentioned here that as the security forces have tightened the noose on ISIS and have launched multiple operations to liberate several areas, the residents from various areas have taken the onus of escaping from these areas to safer places. Even though on a few occasions the efforts have been successful, ISIS however, on a majority of situations have foiled such escape adventures.

ISIS Top Dawg flees with $300K

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Al-Hashed al-Sha’abi official Jabbar Maamouri announced on Tuesday that an ISIS leader of Saudi origin fled Hawija taking along around 300,000 dollars.

Maamouri, in a statement issued to Iraqi News, said, “ISIS leader Abu Jihad Saudi fled from Hawija, situated to the south-west of Kirkuk, to an unknown destination, taking around 300,000 US dollars with him. This money was collected by force or by blackmailing different families.”

“Several ISIS leaders, in the recent past, have escaped Hawija by taking a lot of money which was looted from the families. The leaders have taken the escape route after they realized that their days in the city have been numbered, especially after their overwhelming defeat in Anbar, Salahuddin and Diyala.”

It is worth mentioning here that ISIS has been controlling Hawija, situated 55 km south-west of Kirkuk, since June 2014 and it gradually became one of the most important strongholds of the organization in Kirkuk.

ISIS executes 13 in Hawija

(IraqiNews.com)Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk province announced on Tuesday that the ISIS executed 13 civilians on charges of facilitating the escape of the families from Hawija.

Sharing details the source said, “ISIS beheaded 13 civilians in Riyad area in Hawija, 55 km southwest of Kirkuk. The execution was carried out after the Sharia court passed out a verdict, charging them of facilitating the escape of several families from Hawija to Salahuddin province and other areas in Kirkuk. ”

“After being defeated overwhelmingly at different areas of the province, ISIS now lives under the shadow of a constant fear,” further added the source seeking anonymity.
