| Jihadist offensive in northern Daraa fails to yield any gains |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels of Jabhat Fateh al-Sham ...formerly al-Nusra, the current false nose and mustache of al-Qaeda in the Levant... and Harakat Ahrar al-Sham ...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014... launched a large-scale offensive in the northern Daraa countryside on Sunday, targeting the hilltops near key town of Deir al-'Adas. Jabhat Fateh al-Sham and their allies began the offensive by storming the large hilltop of Tal Qareen; this resulted in a series of intense firefights with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) that lasted for hours on Sunday and Monday. Despite their best efforts, the jihadist rebels were unable to breach the first line of defense for the Syrian Armed Forces. As a result of their offensive failures, the jihadist rebels were forced to retreat after a 48 hour long battle with the Syrian Armed Forces.
