This is America now.

But remember -- Trump said a bad word!

So it's all good.

#13  re: Pappy #12. Open carry is indeed legal in Connecticut with the odd condition or two to be observed.

#12  Open Carry is not legal in Connecticut.

Yes, the state police should be sued.

That said, the guy is an idiot.

#11  I was in old downtown Kansas City, went to a quick shop, guy behind the counter was open carry/designated gunslinger. Safest I felt in that area.

That said, time and place for everything. I would say that if a person does decide to open carry in public, make sure you have a holster with a lock and/or located in a difficult position for someone to not be able to pick your pocket.

#10  That's different from open carry, the ?Koreans were in Castle Defense. That said open carry, in jewelry stores, pawn shops, coin shops and high risk likker stores is a good idea. But not on the street, that's asking for trouble and bad PR. Open carry in the yard hell yes, gardening, hell yes, a bad tomatoe is bad.

#9  I do recall Korean grocers during the LA riots. Those shops didn't burn. It's all about timing and situation.

#7  I agree that anyone carrying openly is showing off and/or asking for trouble.

However, if open carry is legal in Connecticut, and the cops were conspiring to fabricate charges against him, yes, they should be sued AND imprisoned.

#6  I agree with Besoeker. If I were a shooter an open carry person is the first one i'd shoot.

#5   Picard's video of incident.

This armed citizen might be the cop's best friend in a pinch. (I should add, such an action could be fraught with danger for the citizen as he might get shot by the cop or by the perp.)

#4  I know it is a minority view here, but 'open carry' is simply asking for trouble.

#3  Not to mention the politicians that drive this behavior and enable it.
