| Shaboobs raid AMISOM base in El Baraf town |

| Heavily armed Al shabaab fighters launched a daring raid on African Union forces military outpost in El Baraf area in middle Shabelle region, south of Somalia on Thursday. The ambush has sparked a fierce battle between Al shabaab attackers and AMISOM soldiers which was raging on for several minutes in the area, which lies close to Mahaday town. There was no immediate reports of casualties as result of the Al shabaab attack on AMISOM base in El Baraf area, but local residents said both sides have suffered heavy losses. In a separate incident, a bomb has ripped through a small teashop in Mahaday town., killing at least one person, and wounding six others, mostly innocent civilians, according to area administrator. |
